Shall we fly like an eagle until we are free.
Many are on the ground can’t see the big picture as there lives have been about jobs and kids. Until you start to travel beyond your own world, you can’t imagine there is more than what you know.
When you learn the truth it changes what you see.
When you fly above it all you realise we are conditioned by our cultures, our parents, what others think, what leads say is true, the movies we watch, the games we play, what income we earn, fitting in so we are not excluded making sure we comply and do the ‘right thing’. I contemplate.
When you get above it all you look down you see people living next to each other in crowded cities in a huge country. Most work so much or lose themselves in computers, gaming or their own families and don’t know their neighbours. How many down there are lonely? How many are homeless? How many can’t afford food as prices rise? How many are having a great day, the worst day or thinking they don’t want to be here. I ponder.
As fly on you see some live on big properties with solar panels with lots of space. Is that a healthier lifestyle? I wonder?
The tulip festival is like a painting from the sky. Why don’t we live in a creative city that is beautiful, fun and created not for profit but for quality of life? I wonder?
You look down on the water reservoirs that hold the water that drops free from the sky.
You contemplate land use and technology and how clean it is? Do we know what the indigenous knew, can we live off the land in sustainable communities or do we remain dependent on systems that have become indifferent to what is truly needed.
Experience in life gives you the same sense of the big picture. I’ve travelled the world as a clown, travelled Australia visiting schools as a peace clown and spent years researching the big picture to understand the truth of our world. Today I am able to see further than self interest and I contemplate what peace and happiness looks like from a eagle eye view.
I am no longer on the ground stuck in the same thinking that fights over issues in social media that divide us rather than unites. I no longer blindly believe what I was taught. Today I ask – is it true? What do we really know? What do we learn from life experience?
I am realising after my hard work that I am understanding that I am truly free. When we free our minds from what makes us unhappy and no longer contribute we step into the world of our dreams. We fly above it all.
This is true freedom.
